Phase Transfer - Transferring to a new phase of education with an EHCP.
 
This webinar will explain the phase transfer process for children and young people with an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan who are moving to a new stage of education.
 
We will cover what counts as a phase transfer, the key legal deadlines local authorities must meet, and the process they are required to follow when reviewing and amending an EHC plan. We will also look at when families should be consulted about changes to the plan and their preferred school or college, the timescales for issuing an amended final plan, and what should be included in Section I.
 
The session will also clarify how the process applies to children and young people in mainstream, special and all-through settings, as well as transfers between post-16 institutions.
 
By the end of the webinar, attendees will have a clearer understanding of their rights, the local authority’s legal duties, the key stages and timescales involved, and what action can be taken if the phase transfer process or deadlines are not followed.

The final 30 minutes provides an opportunity for parents and carers to ask questions, clarify key points from the presentation and gain further insight into how the information may apply in practice
