Practical, compassionate support for families navigating SEND and neurodivergence Our Family Support Sessions offer parents and carers a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to talk through concerns, better understand their child or young person’s needs, and explore practical ways forward. Each 60-minute one-to-one session is tailored to your family. You may wish to discuss communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs, routines, transitions, demand avoidance, education or challenges at home. Sessions can help you understand what may be behind certain behaviours or difficulties, explore practical strategies, talk through school concerns and build confidence in supporting your child or young person. Our approach is neuro-affirming, needs-led and individualised, focusing on the whole child, their strengths, communication, environment and experiences. Sessions are delivered by a practitioner with extensive professional and lived experience across Early Years, education, social care and SEND. They have specialist knowledge of autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, demand avoidance and PDA-informed approaches, and have completed IPSEA SEND Law training for professionals. They are also neurodivergent and a parent of neurodivergent children. Sessions are suitable for families with diagnosed or emerging needs, including those awaiting assessment. A formal diagnosis is not required. This service provides practical, SEND-informed family support but does not include legal advice, advocacy, therapy, diagnosis, medical advice or crisis support. Advocacy and related SEND support are available through our other services. Our aim is to help families feel more informed, confident and supported.
